The University of Queensland School of Medicine Ochsner Clinical School program has rolling admissions. We recommend that interested students submit their applications as early as possible.
To avoid blocked emails and in order to ensure the application process is handled with confidentiality over email, please add mededpath.org and [email protected] to your approved list of emails.
To avoid missed emails let us know your preferred email address for correspondence (an address that you check regularly) as you will be receiving important messages from us.
When our office receives ANY document on your behalf an email receipt from [email protected] will be sent to the email address we have on file for you. If you do not receive this notification within a week of the document being sent, please contact our office. When all required application documents have been received and deemed to have met the minimum standards for that entry year, you will be invited for an interview.
Applications are processed in the order they are received.
• Applications Open December 1st for the class starting a year from February (i.e. Dec 2016 for Feb 2018)
• Interviews begin in February
• Review Process for students who qualify for First Round Offers begins in early Spring, once an application packet (including interview) is complete (see Requirements below). Students with complete application packets who receive Continuing Consideration will be notified when their application qualifies for Review.
•Decisions take approximately 6-8 weeks from the start of the Review Process.

Requirements for Admission
U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Residency is required.
• The Minimum Requirements to apply for February 2018 entry are:
1. Minimum MCAT score of 502 (no section minimum) or 28 (at least 8 in each section) taken in one sitting
2. MCAT Test date of January 2015 onwards
3. B average
4. B.A. or B.S. degree earned since 2008 for the 2018 entering class.
Students who pass their interview and meet the above requirements with MCAT scores of 502/28 or greater, will receive offers on a rolling basis.

3. MCAT Score Report
Send us your MCAT score report, including the verification number and AAMC ID number, either in pdf format via email to: [email protected], or by mail to our office. To find out when the next MCAT test will be given, click here.
4. Official Transcripts
Transcripts from degree-granting institutions, as well as transcripts from transfer credit schools and post-bacc courses are required. Request that official transcripts be mailed directly from the college or university to our office. We also accept transcripts sent electronically by the credit-granting institution and from Interfolio. Please direct electronic documents to [email protected]. We cannot accept photocopied or student-released transcripts.
Although not required, applicants are encouraged to submit their Resume/CV.
Recommendations are not required. However, if available, please have them sent to our office.
There is no application fee.
8. Receipt of Documents
We will send an e-mail acknowledging each document’s receipt in our office. Please add [email protected] to your approved sender list to avoid important e-mails being sent to junk.
When all required documents have been received and deemed to have met the minimum standards for that entry year, applicants will be invited for an interview, either in New Orleans at the UQ Ochsner Clinical School campus or via Skype. Detailed information about the interviews will be provided when applicants are invited. Interviews will be conducted as long as seats are available for the upcoming application cycle.
10. Admissions Decisions
When each application packet is complete (including interview) and deemed to meet minimum standards for eligibility, it will be sent to Brisbane for assessment. Decisions are made approximately 8 weeks after application submission. Applicants will receive an email notifying them of the admissions decision.
11. Conditional Offers
Applicants who have not yet completed their Bachelor’s degree when applying, and whose applications are reviewed favorably, will be given a conditional offer of admission pending successful completion of the Bachelor’s degree.

Tuition and Fees
Tuition for the 2018 Cohort: $67,456 USD per year.
Tuition deposit: $3,000 USD (applied against first semester tuition).
