Application and Admissions

All applications for the UQ Ochsner program are handled by MedEdPath, the US representative of the UQ School of Medicine. In order to secure an interview, we recommend that interested applicants submit their applications as early as possible.

  • There is no application fee for UQ Ochsner applicants. If you send a check with your application, it will be shredded.
  • There is only one start date per year,
    in February
  • To avoid blocked emails and in order to ensure the application process is handled with confidentiality over email, please add mededpath.org and [email protected] to your approved list of emails.
  • To avoid missed emails let us know your preferred email address for correspondence (an address that you check regularly) as you will be receiving important messages from us.
  • When our office receives ANY document on your behalf an email receipt from [email protected] will be sent to the email address we have on file for you. If you do not receive this notification within a week of the document being sent, please contact our office.
  • If you have not yet taken your MCAT, you may start your application by submitting your signed application forms and transcripts directly to MedEdPath. Email your MCAT Score Report to [email protected] once released to complete your application.


  • SUBMIT ALL REQUIRED APPLICATION DOCUMENTSAll documents may be e-mailed or mailed to our NYC office. Transcripts must be sent directly from each institution.
  • These must include:
  • MCAT Score Report (including 16-digit Verification Code and AAMC ID number)You can access your Verification Code by selecting "Printable Score Report" in your AAMC account
  • All transcripts from institutions attended to dateInclude degree-granting institutions, transfer credit schools, study abroad programs and post-baccalaureate coursework

  • Copy of your US Passport or US Permanent Resident Card
  • Please note: Resumes, Letters of Recommendation and Letters of Intent are not accepted and will not be reviewed during the decision-making process.

Additional documentation may be required, such as:

  • Proof of Name ChangeIf you changed your name after a marriage or divorce.
  • High School TranscriptIf you graduated with your Bachelor's more than 5 years ago.

Interviews are conducted beginning in February 2019 and are held at Ochsner Clinical School in New Orleans, LA. Applicants invited for an interview may select an interview on-site or via video conference.

Applications will be assessed for interview eligibility. Applicants who meet minimum standards will receive an invitation to interview.

In addition to the standard premedical course requirements completed by US Premedical students (e.g. 1 year Biological Sciences, 1 year General Chemistry, 1 year Organic Chemistry, 1 year Physics) UQ highly recommends the following prerequisite courses:
