Charles L. Mehlich, MBA
Charles L. Mehlich has worked in both public and private accounting for over 35 years. Upon completion of his BBA degree in Accounting, he began his career on the audit staff of a medium sized national Certified Public Accounting firm. From public accounting, he moved into private accounting, both as an assistant comptroller and comptroller. He has worked in a variety of industries prior to his current position. In addition to his corporate experience, 25 years ago he developed and continuously managed an accounting and tax preparation service company for individuals, partnerships and small corporations. He has been with MedEdPath from its inception and welcomes the opportunity to be involved with UQ/Ochsner. He is now the CEO/CFO of the company.
Alex Marshak, MFA

Alex Marshak has been with MedEdPath for 3 years as the Head of Information Management. She processes all applications and other sensitive student information for UQ Ochsner at our NYC office. Alex's background is in Museum Studies, and she spent a number of years devoting herself to that passion, before she found her current one, communicating with students and making sure UQ Ochsner's database of information is up-to-date and well organized. She is a born-and-bred New Yorker. She recently got married and lives in NYC with her husband in their (typically) tiny NYC apartment.
Thea Volpe, PhD

Dr. Thea Volpe has over twenty-five years' experience as a pre-health advisor. She began her career in the Medical School Admissions Office at New York University School of Medicine, and then was Director of Advising at NYU's College of Arts and Science, focusing on pre-health advising and serving as interim Prehealth Advisor. She was Associate Dean of Students at The Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, CA, and then was Director of the Columbia University Postbaccalaureate Premedical Program. Before joining Mededpath to represent UQ Ochsner in September, 2009, Dr. Volpe was Director of Advising at Yeshiva University in New York City.
Admissions and Matriculation Advisor
Toby Hudson is an Admissions Advisor at MedEdPath for The University of Queensland School of Medicine Ochsner Clinical School. Since 2011, Toby has helped students and families with the enrollment process, has connected them with current students, and helped them transition to Australia. Toby holds a B.S from the University of Connecticut. Her career in higher education began as a Financial Aid Officer in 1991 at Morse School of Business. She later relocated to New York and served as a Client Services Manager within the Office of Financial Aid at Pace University. Toby then worked at New York Law School for many years, serving in various capacities, including Director of Admissions Operations and Director of Financial Aid. She later transitioned to educational lending, working for Sallie Mae student loans as a Senior Account Executive.
Whitney Bennett, MA

Whitney Bennett has over twenty years in the prehealth advising profession. She began as the Assistant to the Prehealth Dean at Columbia College, then after earning her MA in Education from Columbia University's Teachers' College, worked as an Assistant Dean and, ultimately, Assistant Director of the Columbia University Postbaccalaureate Prehealth Program. Whitney worked as Director of Prehealth Programming at Yeshiva University in New York City prior to joining Mededpath as a representative of UQ Ochsner in July 2010.

Rachel Hanley graduated from Louisiana State University’s Manship School of Mass Communications in Public Relations. Born and raised in Louisiana, Rachel joined the team upon moving to New York City in 2013. A fun fact that ties Rachel to the Ochsner Health System is her late great uncle, Dr. Patrick Hanley, who was one of the first chief residents and a close friend to Dr. Alton Ochsner. When Rachel isn’t in the office, she enjoys taking dance classes, going to the theatre and cheering for her LSU Tigers and New Orleans Saints.
